The Mandala Trust, aims for the future

Schoolchild at the Yellow River Project

School Children at the Yellow River School Project where The Mandala trust provided the funding for doors, windows and heating.

We aim

To develop and demonstrate good governance: to each other, to our donors, to our partners, to the Charity commission and to the people we assist.

To increase our volunteer base year on year

To establish Mandala Trust outreach groups pods based on Buddhist or Christian faith centres/communities or any group where the members support our aims and are willing to work for the people we support.

To continue to support existing recipients where they have one-off costs relating to a new development or new activity

To add at least two new projects each year and to cease assistance to existing projects once they are self sufficient.

Development of the Mandala Trust

Governance

To recruit up to a total of 7 trustees Clarify and record Trustee roles Each trustee to attend trustee training during the lifetime of this plan I identify how we best communicate with each other and continue to develop mindful exchanges, face to face or remotely

To hold routine meetings with some remote participants To meet face to face for one whole day each year to review the plan and how we work together.

Outreach groups:

Essentially a small group of volunteers, not trustees, who will organise/help out with local fundraising events which raise money, build TMTs profile/reputation and give people the opportunity to be generous [tie and effort rather than money]

Build on the Plymouth SW base group by end 2010

Build on London Insight efforts: group by end 2010

Target Brighton Buddhist: group by end 2011

Add one more group in 2012, 13, 14,

Volunteers

To build a core team of three for each group To recruit a volunteer to run Giftaid by mid 2010 Or, to try hard for 6 months and then consider paying a one day a week administrator to run Giftaid and other admin stuff.
